Description Lyman Winchell Dillon by A. Rahde. 1800-1857. Legislator, Farmer, Contractor. Born in Rochester, New York, June 23, 1800. Came to Iowa in 1819 and settled on farm north of Cascade. Build dam in Maquoketa River and a mill. Sub-contractor on first state capitol building. Plowed furrow from Iowa City to Dubuque to mark Military Road in 1839. Representative in 4th General Assembly. Died December 8, 1857. 31" x 21.5"
