Object Name Coin
Description Roman. It is an old Roman coin identified by the American Numismatic Society as a coin of the Roman Emperor Decentius in 351 AD with the Christus symbol on the back. This Christian symbol was used more or less about this time. It was picked up in the Pyrenees Mountains in Spain in 1912 by Mr. Tindley while he was in engineering work. It is believed to have been lost by some Roman soldiers because is was in the path followed by Ceasar Legions when they went from Rome to fight the Gallic Wars
