Object Name Coin
Description "Liberation Penney 1945 Isle of Jersey". From the Royal Mint of Great Britan. It is believed that this is the first occasion on which a coin has been specially struck to commemorate an historic event. Coin sent to donor by Miss Kathleen Whittuck, St. Heliers, Jersey C.I. Obverse side of coin bears image of King George VI of England. Reverse is inscribed the words "Island of Jersey, liberated 1945" also the words "One Twelfth of shilling"
