Two (2) cartridges from Custer Battlefield, 45-70 or 45-55. Both cases heavily tarnished. 1 case is in near perfect shape, while the other is bent and squeezed together near the throat of the cartridge. Shells were secured to old exhibit with silicone glue, some of which is still present.
Dented and deformed. 1873 design: straight rimmed case slightly inclined toward front, .458 inch diameter at neck, .608 inch diameter of rim, 2.105 inch long, 2.55 inch with bullet. Internal primer. Original paper label stated: Picked up in area of first encounter, Little Big Horn Battlefield, June 25, 1926.
