Potato. Oak. Made and owned by Harrison Butler about 1850 and presented by his daughter Mrs. Sarah Hough, who now lives in Des Moines, Iowa. Harrison Butler was a Hard Shell Baptist Preacher of the old School. He came to Iowa in 1850 from near Madison, Wisconsin crossing the Mississippi River on a flat boat. He settled near West Union, Fayette County, Iowa and lived there until his passing. His daughter, Sarah, lived in Fayette County for ninety-two years before coming to Des Moines to live.
