HISTORY: The 25th Iowa Infantry was organized near Mount Pleasant and was composed of companies raised in Henry, Des Moines, Washington, and Louisa. The 25th Iowa was mustered out of service in Davenport, Iowa, in June, 1865. The banner of Company F was donated by Agnes Garner of Columbus City in 1925. Company F was heavily recruited from the area around Columbus City and across Louisa County.
