Description Frank Darr Jackson by Freeman Thorpe. 1854-1938. Businessman and Governor. Born in Arcade, New York, January 26, 1854. Removed to Jesup, Iowa, at close of Civil War at age of 13 years. Secretary of Iowa State Senate, 1882-1884. One of the founders of the Royal Life Insurance Company of which he was president. Governor of Iowa, 1894-1896. After retiring from public life, he devoted his time to insurance work. Died in Riverside, California, November 16 1938.
