Wilson Seeley Lewis by Wilbur A. Reaser. 1857-1921. Educator, minister. Born at Russell, New York, July 17, 1857. Removed to Iowa in 1878 and engaged in educational work. Superintendent of Schools at Center Point and Belle Plaine, Iowa, 1882-1885. Entered into ministry of Methodist Episcopal Church, 1884. Principal of Epworth Seminary, 1888-1897. President of Morningside College, Sioux City, Iowa, 1897-1908. Elected Bishop of Methodist E. Church, 1908, and assigned to educational and religious work in southern China with headquarters at Foochow. Assigned to northern China as senior bishop with headquarters at Peking. Died in Souix City, Iowa, August 25, 1921.
