Governor of Iowa, 1902-1908. Supported by Iowa for Presidential nomination, 1912 and 1916. United States Senator, 1908-1926. President of United States Senate and acting Vice-President, 1923-1925. Delegate to every Republican state and national convention from 1880 until his death. Broke barbwire monopoly as attorney for American farmers.
