Description Loose Couple, 1920 with Detector Tube and Ceramic Socket, 1924. Loose Coupler, 1920. This instrument was the main portion of an early radio. Used either with a crystal of vacuum tube detector, it allowed head phone reception on a wave band from 600 meters to 20,000 meters. Tuned three ways - first by the taps on the primary coil, second, by the slide on the secondary, and finally to obtain maximum volume by sliding the small primary coil in or out of the secondary. Detector Tube and Ceramici Socket 1924. UV-200 tube used six volts and one ampere for filament supply. Used in all early one-tube sets in most multi-tube models
