Object No: 7282, tagged only HISTORY: This regiment would distinguish itself near the end of the war by capture of numerous Confederate flags which would result in eight of its members recieving the Medal of Honor. Those to receive the Medal of Honor include-Nicolas Fanning, James P. Miller, Charles Swan, Norman F. Bates, Edward J. Bebb, Henry County, Richard H. Cosgriff, John Hays, and Richard H. Morgan. The 4th Iowa Cavalry traveled to Atland where they were mustered out of service on August 10 and retured to Davenpo
